Abstract
There do not appear to be any insurmountable physical, chemical, hydraulic, or ecologic obstacles to the creation of saltmarsh. Results of limited experiments in this field by the Galveston, Texas, and St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, U.S. Bureau of Commercial Fisheries stations are encouraging. Methodology of planting Spartina alterniflora and economic factors are considered.
