The purpose of this proposal is to determine the most appropriate dune configuration to protect Galveston Island and its associated development from storm surge and wave damage while at the same time maintaining a natural, aesthetically pleasing beach and dune system. We propose to collect washed-up Sargassum wrack from teh beach, bale it and incorporate the bales into the sand dune to add protective dune volume and spur natural dune vegetation.en_US
