Subsidized Destruction: The Wallisville Lake Project and Galveston Bay

The Wallisville Lake project is located on the northeast edge of Galveston Bay in the Trinity River Delta where the river enters the bay. Congress authorized the project in 1962 as a multipurpose water control project intended to provide water supply, salinity control, navigation, recreation and fish and wildlife enhancements.
