Abstract

Principal hazards to Texas Coast are (1) hurricane (2) flood (3) shoreline erosions (4) land-surface subsidence and (5) faulting. This atlas is composed of Natural Hazard maps and text describing hazard distributional occurrence processes and causes, impacts, mitigations, and reduction. Most hazard-prone elements and areas are based on observations, historic documented information. There are hazards that have occurred or are currently active.
