Factors controlling sea grass growth in a gulf coastal system: water and sediment quality and light

The primary parameters effecting sea grass growth are salinity, temperature, and depth. However, light, sediment and nutrient factors can also be limiting variables. This article presents a combined field and laboratory study on the relationship between each of these characteristics and the distribution of submerged sea grasses in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.
