Abstract

Triploid grass carp are used to control aquatic vegetation when that vegetation is considered to be a nuisance to humans. Grass carp are herbivorous and their triploid chromosome state should render them sterile. Nevertheless, uncertainty exists about the effects of introducing this species to other ecosystems.
