Abstract

In summer of 1892 a sudden and extensive mortality occurred among planted oysters in Galveston Bay, Texas. The study suggests that oysters should not be planted north of Redfish Bay due to salinity. It also suggests that south substrate could have been a cause of the oyster mortality.
