dc.description.abstractResearch was undertaken in order to help establish the uptake of dissolved organic matter as an important component of marine benthic ecosystems. Statistical analyses were performed on data from the following experiments: (1) comparisons between anaerobic and aerobic uptake-release of dissolved C14-glycine; (2) determinations of the fate of dissolved C14-glycine once it enters the body of Capitella capitata under aerobic and anaerobic conditions.en_US
