Abstract

The hydrology and demersal finfish communities near the proposed West Hackberry and Weeks Island brine disposal sites, located off the Louisiana coast, were characterized during the summer and fall of 1978 and winter and spring of 1979. Water temperature, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen levels exhibited seasonal trends typical of warm temperate environments and were similar across study sites. Dissolved oxygen was hypoxic during the summer.
