The objective of this Phase I report is to summarize, review and depict the sampling data previously gathered under the Galveston Bay Project, to establish existing BOD5 loading to the Channel and Bay waters, and to explore water quality results from a range of reduced loads representing various degrees of upgrading waste streams. Order-of-magnitude cost estimates are included for two degrees of upgrading, load reduction to 60,000 pounds and load reduction to 20,000 pounds of BOD5 per day to the Houston Ship Channel.
