Abstract

Preserving Family Lands continues to be a good introduction to the field, and if you haven't read it you should. Preserving Family Lands: Book II covers a few of the same issues, such as conservation easements and the basic estate tax rules, but it also covers the next generation of planning. This book covers more sophisticated tax planning techniques and concepts. Please keep in mind that Preserving Family Lands: Book II is not intended to be exhaustive or all-inclusive, and that in order to keep it relatively easy to read I have had to rely on a number of generalizations about what really are complex issues. That is why the warning to "check with an experiences advisor" appears throughout the book.
