Land development within the watershed is occurring at a rate exceeding development in other parts of the region, particularly because of the opportunities for recreational activity. Valid estimates and projections of growth are needed for developers, treatment facility operators, and local and state governments so that adequate planning can be used to mitigate and prevent water pollution problems in the area. The data presented are intended as a guide for identifying potential areas of water quality degradation, sizing wastewater treatment facilities, setting wasteload allocations, and determining domestic wastewater discharge limitations.
