Abstract
Live and dead shrimp are preferred natural bait for recreational fishing. As a result, extensive bait-shrimp fisheries have developed along the Gulf coast, especially in Florida and Texas. .... In 1984, the estimated market yield for bait shrimp landed from the Galveston Bay System was $4.3 million. Both inshore and offshore fisherman exploit the same shrimp population, though at different stages of the life cycle. This article continues to discusses the various aspects of the commercial bait shrimp fishery in Galveston Bay, Texas.
