Abstract

As with the Lake Houston and Clear Lake Watersheds, land development and population growth in the western portion of the watershed have necessitated construction of new and expanded wastewater treatment facilities. This development has resulted in larger areas of impervious surface resulting in more stormwater runoff as well as increasing wasteloads from treatment facilities. It is hoped the future growth estimates, in population and municipal wasteloads, presented in this report will help local governments to plan the mitigation and prevention of existing and potential water pollution problems.
