Abstract
This report contains information on the meteorologic and hydrologic features of the hurricane Carla that swept across the Louisiana and Texas coast in the Galveston District on 9-12 September 1961. Presented also are estimates of the damages sustained in the stricken area from tidal innudation, hurricane winds and torrential rainfall that attended the storm, and some information of an engineering nature. The area in Texas affected by the storm is shown.
