Abstract
Nine species of Triglidae were collected at 40 sites along the Texas Coast, at depths of 5 to 50 fathoms. The species having the greatest biomasses, as expressed in grams per 10 minutes of trawling, were (in order) Prionotus rubio, P. paralatus, P. stearnsi, and P. tribulus. The other five species, which occurred in much smaller numbers, were P. salmonicolor, P. ophryas, P. roseus, Bellator militaris, and Peristedion gracile.
