dc.description.abstractSurface temperature data taken in June 1966 on the Upper Texas Gulf Coast are examined for evidence that the space and time variations in the field are significantly influenced by the sea breeze circulation system. Two instrument comparison tests were performed on the coast and five more in Austin. These are examined statistically for evidence of bias and of random error. Mesoscale temperature patterns are presented as a function of both space and time. Gradients in the vicinity of the seashore are highlighted through the detailed examination of reports from a small scale, dense network of instruments which were aligned perpendicular to the coastline for a one day period.en_US
