The catch rates of selected species in 6.1 m trawl samples were compared between stations at Pass Cavallo and the Matagorda Ship Channel in the Matagorda Bay system. No significant (P less than or equal to 0.05) differences were found between stations at each pass nor were there any significant (P less than or equal to 0.05) differences found between the two passes. The comparable catch rate estimates found at each pass indicate that they may be sampled as one pass; thereby increasing sampling efficiency by reducing the number of areas required to sample.en_US
