Abstract

The marine support facility is required as a support base for offshore operations and maintenance activities. It will serve three primary functions: (1) as a supply/personnel staging area and shipping point in support of operational and maintenance activities at the platform complex, (2) for storage, testing and repair of the various SPM hose systems, and (3) as an oil spill response center. Because of the potentially high cost of land and the uncertainties ahead of SEADOCK in the license application process, a definite site for the marine support facility has not yet been determined. It will probably be located in the Brazosport Harbor area for convenient access although availability of suitable sites is somewhat limited. The descriptions presented below are, therefore, preliminary at this point pending selection of a site.
