Two trawl and one seine station in Tabbs Bay, and 13 trawl and 5 seine stations in Trinity Bay, Texas were collected twice monthly for 15 months (October 1969 through December 1970). Five pushnet stations in Trinity Bay were collected twice monthly in April 1970 and seven were collected twice monthly from May through October 1970. Generation of electric power (and discharge of heated water) by Unit 1, a 750 mw steam-electric unit of the Houston Lighting and Power Company's Cedar Bayou Generating Station, began on November 5, 1970. Intake water from Cedar Bayou and Tabbs Bay was discharged into Trinity Bay. Brown shrimp (Penaeus aztecus), white shrimp (P. setiferus), blue crabs (Callinected sapidus), and grass shrimp (Palaemonetes pugio), made up 98.2% of the 37,056 crustaceans that were collected.en_US
