Abstract

The 100 km long Verde Island Passage in the northern Philippines is located within the globally significant Coral Triangle, an area considered the center of the world’s marine biodiversity, and as such, has a wealth of coastal marine resources, including highly diverse coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass meadows. The Verde Island Passage is a significant conservation corridor contained in the island chain.
