    The USS Queens was an attack transport during WWII in the Pacific. The collection consists of two documents, a Christmas Day Menu and the travel record of the Queens.

    T/S Texas Clipper I, 1966-1989, 1995

    The Texas Clipper was known as the USS Queens and then the SS Excambion before becoming the training ship for the Texas Maritime Academy at Texas A&M Galveston in 1965. Its last cruise as the training ship for the Texas Maritime Academy was in 1994. From 1994-1996 it was used as a dormitory for the Seaborne Conservation Corps. The anchor of the Texas Clipper currently sits outside the library. In November 2007 the Texas Clipper was sunk on Padre Island to become an artificial reef.

    Scans for Digital Projects. 12 DVDs. Scans made by Royal Imaging of Houston for the Library's University Archive Digitization Project. It should be noted that some of the PDFs were transferred to the Library using a portable hard drive and were never converted to DVDs. All scans (PDFs) were transferred to the Pain Server (Y drive). They were also bulk loaded to TAMU's Image Web at College Station. Public access for some of the scans are in the Texas Digital Library (TDL) such as: yearbooks, catalogs, and others.

    SS Excambion, 1948

    Originally named the USS Queens, the ship was renamed the Excambion in 1948. It served as a cruise ship from New York City to the Mediterranean. Its last cruise was in 1959. In 1965 it was renamed the Texas Clipper and became the training ship for the Texas Maritime Academy at Texas A&M University at Galveston.

    The Texas Clipper II was formerly known as the USN Chauvenet. It was renamed the Texas Clipper II when it was acquired by Texas A&M at Galveston in 1996. The ship was replaced in 2005. It served at the summer training cruise ship for the Texas Maritime Academy and visited ports in places such as Mexico, the Caribbean, and Ports around the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts. The collection includes log books and papers from cruises aboard the Texas Clipper II.
