Abstract
The Comprehensive Plan for the City of Galveston, Texas is the official statement of long-range goals and policies affecting the City’s competitiveness, livability, and sustainability. The Comprehensive Plan forms the basis upon which zoning decisions are made. This Plan, an update to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan, focuses on key strategic directions pertaining to the following elements: Housing and Neighborhoods; Economic Development; Land Use and Community Character; Historic Preservation; Natural Resources; Transportation; Infrastructure; Disaster Response; and Human.
