Abstract

A panel of knowledgeable scientists met and considered research needed to identify and measure important chronic effects of oil on the marine environment and to highlight priority work required if only limited funds were available. The activity was organized by Exxon Production Research Company (EPRCo) and was held November 4-6, 1974 in Houston, Texas. Prior to the workshop many of those attending had prepared background opinion papers which were circulated. The participants were divided into two discussion groups, and each group selected its own discussion leader. The groups met separately to consider each of several topics suggested by EPRCo and then met jointly to exchange views.
