Abstract

Seasonal species composition of live nanoplankton at one location in each of three different environmental areas of the Galveston Bay System was determined from August 1976 to August 1977. The relationship of seasonal occurrence of dominant nanoplankton and temperature or salinity was determined. Live cell counts were made from samples collected every three weeks from three stations. Cell enumerations were conducted with a thin-based hemacytometer examined microscopically at 500X and 1250X. Measurements of surface water temperature and salinity were made every three weeks at each station.
