Abstract

This presentation highlights successful projects and programs that integrate the science and history of Galveston Bay into classrooms and provide opportunities for students and teachers to experience learning in the unique environments of the bay. The knowledge the students gain from these programs empowers them to make responsible decisions that uphold environmental quality as well as have a clearer understanding of the complexity of environmental management in a growing urban and industrial coastal region.
