Abstract

The U. S. Geological Survey's National Wetlands Research Center, through partnership with the Galveston Bay Estuary Program, has developed the Galveston Bay Wetland Data Management System to provide an outlet for the information. With the increasing accessibility to the Internet, this system makes wide-scale distribution possible. The website will give access to information and data about wetlands, and provide an interactive data integration tool. The system will consist of an interactive map server (IMS), a digital data library, and a web interface to tie the two main components together. The information placed in the system will be targeted to a range of users, scientists, decision-makers and the general public.
