Vertebrate herbivory in managed coastal wetlands: a manipulative experiment

Studies of above ground biomass management have been done in the past. However, these did not account for the period before and after the time of the management. Now studies are being conducted which include those periods. This article discusses a study in which water level was managed, and measurements were made on the affects of grazing in fenced and unfenced regions that were both managed and unmanaged. Marsh management and grazing adversely affected production of Sc. americanus, while S. patens production remained unchanged.
