Abstract

Part of this book deals with fish diversity and abundance, followed by a brief review of the classification of lower chordates. The second part of the book presents fish in a linear order in a manner that would best seem to reflect their postulated evolutionary relationships. Categories are given down at least to family level and frequently lower. At this level the characteristics of the particular fish are discussed.
