Report on Hurricane Alicia, August 15-18, 1983

This report is a summary of the meteorologic and hydrologic aspects of the storm, and of the damages and costs attributable to its passage through this heavily populated region. Costs of damage and recovery can probably never be completely determined. Recovery operations and adjustment and settlement of insurance claims were still in progress as data for this report were being collected, and major categories of damage had not been completely assessed. Cost estimates contained in this report are therefore preliminary and incomplete. They do however, represent the best and mos complete data available.
