Abstract

The purpose of this report is to assess and evaluate the probable population alterations and ecological effects of the proposed discharge by United States Steel. In doing so it is necessary to take into consideration the present and planned operation of other plants in the area, particularly that of Houston Lighting and Power Company. A detailed description of the proposed physical and hydrological changes may be found in the accompanying report by Turner, Collie and Braden; therefore, that portion of our report will be kept brief as possible, and it will concentrate on data directly related to biological analyses.
