Abstract

A conference held by the US Environment Protection Agency [EPA] discussed the damage to shellfishing in Galveston Bay, Texas, due to industrial pollution. Due to the EPA's efforts, the biological O sub(2) demand of the most polluted water in the upper section of the polluted water in the Houston Ship Canal had fallen from 17.5 ppm in 1967 to 4 ppm in 1971
