Abstract

Analysis of catch rates (no./h) and mean length of white shrimp (Penaeus setiferus) collected in gulf waters (<18.3 m deep) off the central Texas coast during May-July 1970-1982 revealed a significant difference among years in mean length but not in catch rate. Linear regression analysis revealed a negative linear trend in mean length among years, depicting a decrease in size of white shrimp through time.
