Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of dominant dune plants to grow in oil contaminated sands placed into the dune system. The ability of plants, including transplant stock, to growth in the oil contaminated sands would be a necessity before the sand could be considered for placement in the dunes. The Alvenus oil spill presented an opportunity to evaluate growth of plants in crude oil contaminated sand.
