Abstract

Studies were planned and initiated to determine how land-fill housing developments effect the ecology of natural marsh areas. The study site was on the west end of Galveston Island, Texas. Specific aims of the research were to compare the abundance and size of the dominant organisms, environmental features, and the setting and growth of oysters in the natural and altered areas.
